ILeka’s MUKTA GAT Program empowers students aged 11 to 16 to become independent thinkers, effective communicators, and responsible global citizens. At this stage, we deepen academic understanding while encouraging personal growth, creativity, and critical thinking through real-world, hands-on learning experiences.
Our curriculum integrates core subjects like mathematics, science, and language with life skills, technology, the arts, and entrepreneurship. Students engage in meaningful projects, debates, research, and innovation that connect classroom learning to the world around them.
With a strong focus on self-awareness, collaboration, and decision-making, iLeka helps students navigate adolescence with confidence and purpose—equipping them for future academic paths and life beyond school.
Curriculum
Bhasha
It is found that an individual with average linguistic intelligence has capacity to learn around 8 to 10 languages at a time at the age of 0 to 6. Knowledge of various languages is the most primary skill nature wants us to have. So why not maximise this and achieve more!
Currently we have Marathi, Hindi, Sanskrit, English, French, Spanish and Japanese in the pool. We arrange sessions of these languages which split in three parts: reading (20%), writing (5%) and conversation (75%).
Number of languages you know is directly proportional to the number of perspectives you have. Keep adding perspectives and you add more intelligence in your system. This process is more acute in young age (i.e. from 0 to 6) where we try to capitalise natural dynamics as much as we can.
Ankangi
This activity is dedicated to the operational aspects of Maths. Mathematics is the language of nature. Every phenomenon exists in a pattern and expresses a formula. If it is so, then we should be able to think in this language too, as we think in other languages.
In this light, we explore various methods of mathematical operations. Kids go on analysing them. It includes all the methods of modern maths covered in academics along with Vedic maths and Leelavati – the traditional maths course set by Bhaskaracharya.
Interested kids – who have started thinking in maths end up few of the times having their own variations of methods. Kids become familiar with various methods of the same mathematical operations which creates interest. It also solve the purpose actually, by enabling kids in logical thinking.
LMS
This activity is dedicated to the conceptual side of Maths. If a concept is new in the discussion, we have to conduct it in familiar language with known references. Then it becomes easier to grasp.
Long form of the name LMS – Let’s Make a Statement – speaks all about it. We go on making statements using all the mathematical concepts. Initially, facilitators have to do this, later kids start adding in the pool with their own statements.
This activity is creating familiarity of all the concepts covered in maths and gives absolute clarity of them.
Sahit
Whatever decisions you are going to take in whichever stage of life, they all are going to be based on the past experience. In this way, experience is very crucial for any person in almost every field and life in general.
With this awareness, we have created two-fold activity for all where we read lot of literature to share experiences of the others. With this, we invite lot of individuals as well where all the others ask various questions to them and they import their experiences with all.
Kids get lot of awareness of various aspects of life in this way. They also get connected with lots of current practices. And most importantly, they get lots of passive experience out of this activity which helps them thinking differently.
Artham
Everybody’s life has one facet which could be a hurdle in whatever he is interested to do in his life and that is money. Very rarely we find harmony between what we want to do and what we have to do. Financial literacy is something which can make peace in these two.
With this concept, we conduct so many sales, purchases few other activities as well. Kids explore several dimensions of finance costing, profit and loss, banking, share market etc.
This activity build financial literacy as well as the financial sense. It gives important input at the time of taking career decision.
Science
This is the face of modern era. After having multiple industrial revolutions, science has captured the position of most important cog in the wheel. Many of the finest opportunities to excel personally as well as socially need proficient skill set and keen mind set of any of the science streams.
Here, we minutely observe so many phenomena of life to understand actual science involved in daily life. Also, there are activities to explore and understand basic theory of science.
As participants explore things themselves and understand, their conceptual learning becomes so strong. As they are becoming aware of it through first-hand experience, scientific understandings percolate in their approach.
EVS
The most peculiar thing to handle for the future generations is environment. It’s becoming more and more challenging for the entire life on the planet. Human has to make lot of changes in his life practices as well as has to adjust himself according to the climate changes.
Being connected with the nature is a thing which doesn’t have any alternative. We keep being with nature in many of our field trips, activities and projects. Observations and discussions about nature and its modus operandi take place to make their understandings clearer.
Participants become very much aware about so many environmental aspects of human and non-human life. They are now sounder in understanding challenges and tackling issues. It certainly has smoothened their daily lives up to an extent.
Reading
Reading is the way you can come across variety of experiences accumulated by the others which may give you important inputs while taking important decisions. Every successful individual in these days owes a lot to the multi-dimensional reading for the success he/she achieves.
Even though it looks pretty simple, there is a lot of skill involved into it. We work on those skills starting from being able to read till speed reading so that they can excel on the basis of that throughout their lives.
This is the first extension of Śailī which is one of the basic skills a modern human must possess for a successful life.
Writing
This is another skill which is multi-faceted and really important in many ways. Being able to write exams is an extremely miniscule sized stuff we get out of it. Writing has so wonderful impact on the personal life for which we are really pumped up to pursue this skill and exercise it thoroughly.
In this one, we start with a couple of sentences a day and go till being able to write so many pages in one sitting. In this other extension of Śailī, we get lot of clarity in one’s thought process as everyone has to think and verify the thoughts differently while writing
Gatanugam
If you want to proceed in right direction, you need to be constantly aware of your spot and your journey from there till present. Individuals aware about their history can not only be assured about their futuristic directions but also, they are very firm on their stance in present.
In this activity, we explore our past through discussions to become aware about what and how we were. Activities apart from the discussions also help building evenly poised approach in kids.
Kids love to hear the stories of the past. It also include epics i.e. Rᾱmᾱyaṇa and Mahᾱbhᾱrata. With this awareness, they become firmer and don’t get deviated with the references of the other cultures.
Mimansa
Whatever we have to deal with, we need to understand its significance first so that we can decide the correct required response for that. Understanding exact significance is not that easy as it includes so many components such as time, place, intention etc. Without referring them, we always fail to understanding things happening around us and end up establishing various interpretations of the same which could be far from the actual core.
With this understanding, we have set up this activity where kids dive deep in the seen instead of swimming superficially and try to understand the stuff behind the scene. Through this interactive session, they discover multi-fold root of the cause and understand as many layers as possible of the same thing.
Kids and individuals participating in this activity come to know about the life under the microscope called Mīmᾱnsᾱ. They become more stable and mindful about the things happening around them. With proper understanding of the actions and its consequences, they also become more watchful for their responses on the stuff around them.
Mind Mapping
The most critical aspect of a human life in this time is thinking capacity. Thinking is a skill we need to bolster in a proper way. Many of the times, we need to channelize thinking and we need to focus into unexplored area sometimes. This needs special effort to make it possible.
We use mind mapping technic to regulate these disciplines. Kids make mind maps using the technique while discussing everything in the space. It gives them actual feel of the mapping of their mind.
Kids are able to tap and boost their creativity through this activity. They are more aware of their thought process and are able to regulate it in this way.
Shloka Pathan
Learning by heart has great importance in Indian traditions. When we learn various shlokas and suktas by heart, it laden our system with so many references in ready to use form. It also makes us more capable of imbibing various good pieces of values and thoughts as well.
We learn not only Sanskrit but also Marathi and Hindi shlokas by heart and kids do that in joyful way. Various Sanskrit shlokas, chapters of Bhagwat Geeta and several suktas from Vedic literature is selected carefully along with Marathi shlokas from Kekavali and so many Hindi Dohas.
Kids feel so energetic after learning shlokas. The process of this is also very subtle and they are at ease. It makes them learn so much without the actual burden of learning. It is as good as the process we follow to learn so many filmy songs.
Yoga Sastra
Whatever you want to achieve in your life on personal, family, social and national level, the very first step towards it is fitness. Fitness of various levels such as physical, mental, emotional, intellectual and spiritual enables one to optimise the capabilities. It ultimately translates into greater achievements on various levels of your life.
All these aspects are already considered in the wonderful paradigm of Yogaṡᾱstra by our great forefathers. The most popular stuff of it in these days is various postures (Yogᾱsanᾱs) but it is only one of the eight aspects of the whole. We discuss and do activities to make everyone benefit on all the levels of life.
Through this activity, awareness several facets of life (i.e. Yogaṡᾱstra) is rising in participants consciousness. People are able to realise its effect on human life.
Extra Curriculum
Carpentry
Wood is one of the natural elements involved in the human life since so long. Handling it provides wonderful scope for creativity in the early age.
In this hands-on activity, we create various designs in wooden toys as well as furniture items. Lot of wooden toys and utility items being created with kids.
It paves new thoughts and ideas in creative way. Also, it completes the circle of life experience as we create something with our hands in today’s knowledge dominated educational field.
Art and Craft
There is only one joy in human life which not only makes the moment memorable but also adds peace and satisfaction in one’s life and that is creation. One of our basic activities, Art & Craft, starts from very young age and we pursue it in all the age groups.
We work with kids in two ways here, one off kind of stuff and thematic ideas. First is one or two session activity whereas the other needs more than a month’s collective effort to get developed. We also use waste material in this form to have “best from waste” experience.
All the kids and their parents have enjoyed this activity as it is very simple and enabling everyone to look at the waste stuff differently.
Origami
We all have experienced the joy of making things with our hands. The most easily doable art of create wonderful stuff in short time is paper folding. Kids in young age don’t have patience to create beautiful things out of solid forms. So, Origami has gained enormous popularity.
In this little bit of advanced version of art and craft, we create animals, objects and many more things with kids by folding papers.
Participants enjoy origami as it enables them in making and innovating my things. Here they also become capable of imagining in all the three dimensions.
Pottery
Soil is one of the natural elements involved in the human life since so long. Handling it provides wonderful scope for creativity in the early age.
In this hands-on activity, we create various models in clay toys as well as clay art. Lot of clay toys and decorative items being created with kids.
It paves new thoughts and ideas in creative way. Also, it completes the circle of life experience as we create something with our hands in today’s knowledge dominated educational field.
Carving
This is a thing human race started to do in very early stage of evolution. We used to make weapons with this skill. Carving various materials gives us an eye-sight of visualising inherent things.
We have couple of mediums for this. Wood, ciporex as well as wax is being used to carve things out.
Many of the time we have parents also taking part and making something interesting. It gives lot of joy and happiness to every individual participating in this.
Folk Tales
Every human being likes to listen stories. Stories have immense capacity to convey messages and values. As Einstein said, if you want to make a kid intelligent, tell him as many fairy tales as you can. Because intelligence is nothing but the capacity of human mind to imagine.
In this two-fold activity, we narrate various folk tales to the kids. Folk tales have huge cultural diversification. They also carry experiences of so many generations in capsule form. All this is being delivered to the kids in detail. Then we also weave our own stories regularly.
Kids know so many stories and also learn the art of weaving stories and articulate their imaginations. They get immense joy with this and also receive so many cultural inputs from all over. It is making them more open for the others.
Field Trips
Real connection is the missing piece of the puzzle called conventional schooling system. Lack of this makes the education theoretical and dead. More you become aware of life with all its dimensions, more it will be relevant for you. Education and its practical application goes hand in hand if you got it practically in the first place.
In this light, we plan various visits to many kind of places. The wide spectrum of it includes everything from farms to manufacturing units. We have pre and post discussions to get the maximum absorption out of it. We also take down observations in the visit. It opens up so many aspects to discuss further.
Kids get exposure of all the social needs along with its contemporary practices and provides pointers to refer in future.
Workshops
It’s impossible to have all the experiences under one roof in an organisation. We prioritise few of those and set them up. But we should have glimpses of remaining things in a while to make the atmosphere dynamic and versatile.
Under this title, we invite artists and other professionals of various art forms and skills to experience what they have. These workshops are from one-off session to multiple sessions depending on the nature of it and of course the interest people have in it.
Kids are exposed to various other arts and practices. It gives them awareness, joy, excitement and what not!
Festivals
Social being and cultural flavour is always been extracted in the form of festivals. Every culture has its own set of it. Also, it is ecologically controlled thing. So, we need to be mindful and flexible with them to keep them relevant as cultural references keep changing with time.
With this in mind, we celebrate all the major festivals of our culture and participate in them out in the society.
With this practice, kids become more social, more inclusive and become ecologically aware about the life style they have.
Events
We do so much at Ileka, learn so many things and that too, without any parameter to judge. But, taking a pause on every turn and look back to understand what we’ve done in also important. It helps us to be on track. Also, we come to know about our strengths and weaknesses which could help us do better in future.
On the basis of this understanding, we’ve sketched a competitive way of evaluation where kids compete with each other and express/apply whatever they’ve absorbed. Once a month we arrange a competition of something where kids test themselves. Also, it is open, so anyone can participate.
All the fraternity (Schooling, Home schooling, Unschooling) gets a platform here to have a feel of competitiveness. Ileka kids also get a chance to meet and greet other kids and make new friends.
